Running a database, a PHP server, and a caching engine to serve a simple, static website felt like using a $5000 robot to butter my toast.</p> <p>I decided to switch to using <a href="https://gohugo.io/">Hugo</a>, a simple static site generator. Just be clear, I still write everything here myself. All Hugo does is convert what I write (using Markdown) to modern HTML so that it can be published online.</p>
