I got back from my brother’s wedding (which was really great) and vacation on Sunday morning. Since then, I’ve been catching up on emails, news feeds, meeting transcripts, laundry, and working on my newest project.
Yesterday I went for a bicycle ride out in the countryside. One thing I saw was an electricity-generating windmill not far from where I live. I don’t know why I never saw it before. I did a little searching online and found the website of Community Renewable Energy Waterloo (CREW). From that site:
“There are at least 5 wind turbines in Waterloo Region, including 2 older-style turbines just north of Waterloo that were purchased from California and refurbished and installed by WAM Energy. Others include a turbine sited at the YMCA Outdoor Education centre near Paradise Lake, a prototype vertical turbine sited on a farm near Ayr, and Jim Cappleman’s turbine…”
